The pendant is made entirely by hand from the finest porcelain. I use a variety of mark making techniques to design and shape the leaf before leaving to dry. Once dry the piece goes for its first kiln firing (bisque) up to 1000c. After the piece has cooled it is firm enough to handle and a very subtle oxide is added along with a gloss glaze. The piece then goes back in the kiln for a second firing up to 1300c. This permanently sets the piece and glaze. Once cooled again, the pure silver is added to the piece to highlight the detail. The piece then goes back in for a third firing to 800c.
