About the Workshop

Join us for a creative, seasonal crafting experience where you will learn to hand-build delicate porcelain pieces. In this workshop, you will design and sculpt an exquisite, textured porcelain angel alongside a collection of charming hanging decoration featuring rustic textures and charms.

Guided by Emma, you will discover the unique properties of porcelain clay and how to achieve fine, professional finishes.

What You Will Learn & Create

Porcelain Sculpting: Learn how to shape and drape porcelain slabs to form the flowing robes, and wings of a delicate decorative angel.
Texturing Techniques: Use fabrics, lace, and stamps to impress intricate patterns into the clay body for both the angel and the hanging ornaments.
Forming Bells & Ornaments: Construct hollow hanging shapes, tapered cones, and incorporate suspended elements like miniature porcelain stars and discs.
Accents & Detailing: Master methods for adding subtle raised details, borders, and hanging loops.
Finishing Touches: Learn how to smooth edges, refine shapes, and prepare your pieces for their firing.

Included in the Workshop

All necessary porcelain clay and specialised tools.
A selection of textures, stamps, and lace for use during class.
A variety of underglaze colours and clear glaze.
Glaze firing of your completed pieces.

Please Note: Porcelain is a delicate clay. This workshop requires patience and a light touch. This session involves wet clay, so please dress accordingly.
